How it works: new photos in Google Drive are picked up by a scheduled GitHub Actions run, moved to Cloudflare R2 and shown in the gallery.

01

The problem

I've led media and web for the Sri Varasiththi Vinaayagar Hindu Temple of Toronto since 2020, including rebuilding the temple's website. The community takes a lot of photos at events, and they needed one simple place where everyone can find them.

More detail on how photos were shared before is coming soon.

What I built

A photo gallery for the community, with an automated pipeline that syncs photos from Google Drive into Cloudflare R2 using GitHub Actions.
